This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Accurately record and classify daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Keep organized and current financial records for designated accounts or entities.
• Input vendor invoices, expense reports, and receipts with appropriate coding and documentation.
• Ensure all transactions are recorded in the correct accounting period and assigned to the right accounts.
• Process vendor invoices and manage payment scheduling under the supervision of the accounting manager.
• Post customer or client payments and allocate them to the correct outstanding balances.
• Monitor accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) aging reports, highlighting overdue items for follow-up.
• Assist with communications between vendors and clients regarding billing and payment inquiries.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to verify that all transactions are accurately recorded and accounted for.
• Identify and investigate any discrepancies between bank statements and internal records.
• Reconcile credit card statements and other assigned accounts.
• Maintain clear and well-organized reconciliation workpapers.
• Aid in journal entry preparation for routine accruals, prepaid expenses, and necessary adjustments.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes under the direction of senior staff.
• Ensure the general ledger is accurate, complete, and well-maintained for the assigned accounts.
• Assist in generating basic financial reports and summaries for internal review.
• Maintain organized and audit-ready financial files and documentation.
• Help prepare supporting schedules for tax filings or external reviews as directed.
• Respond promptly and professionally to internal accounting inquiries.
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects, data cleanup, or special assignments as required.
• Adhere to established accounting procedures and contribute to process improvements as you develop in the role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or currently pursuing CPA licensure or board certification.
• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and the accounting cycle.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in all financial data entry and recordkeeping.
• Organized and dependable, with the capability to manage assigned tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setting with access to online supervision and team support.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Hands-on experience or coursework in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms (Preferred).
• Previous internship, part-time, or practicum experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role (Preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data management and basic reporting (Preferred).
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes (Preferred).
