This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Act as the main contact for finance-related inquiries and questions.
• Keep project and employee records updated in SAP.
• Oversee accounts payable operations, which includes managing the AP inbox, addressing vendor inquiries, executing payment runs, and setting up bank payments.
• Handle employee expense reports and reconcile corporate credit cards.
• Maintain the general ledger and sales journal while conducting weekly bank reconciliations and monthly data integrity checks for the general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, addressing discrepancies when necessary.
• Contribute to the month-end process by preparing intercompany entries and updating prepaid, capex, and capital lease working papers monthly, as well as preparing related entries.
• Assist in payroll preparation by compiling the bi-weekly Payroll Journal Entry.
• Prepare and submit GST/HST, PST, and other sales tax remittances.
• Collaborate closely with senior finance team members to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Aid in year-end audits by preparing audit working papers and relevant documentation.
• Draft finance-related correspondence and departmental documentation.
• Contribute to finance projects and continuous process enhancements while working with cross-functional teams and finance colleagues in various locations.
• 1-2 years of experience in a comparable role with a strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping.
• Solid grasp of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial systems/ERP software such as SAP ByDesign, along with familiarity with Google Workspace.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Self-driven and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the capacity to establish effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
