Jumbo Operator, Development Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Conduct visual inspections, sound checks, scale measurements, and clean the work area, while checking for bootlegs and missholes, flag lifters, and making additions or repairs to vent tubing.

• Evaluate ground conditions at the face and implement ground control measures as per site requirements.

• Extend the grade and center line, mark the face for drilling, circle bootlegs, and maintain the hanging wall and foot wall.

• Possess the capability to perform jackleg and/or stopper drilling as necessary.

• Identify the location, spacing, depth, and inclination of drill holes.

• Carry out minor repairs, including changing striker bars, couplings, water tubes, and hose clamps.

• Complete daily logbooks regarding equipment and provide both written and verbal reports to the supervisor.

• Load, prime, time, connect, and test the blasting circuit.

• Install guards at all entrances prior to blasting, execute blasts according to project standards, and remove guards post-blasting.

• Keep the working area and equipment in a clean and organized state.

• Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions necessary for performing duties safely and efficiently.

• Must adhere to proper procedures to ensure safety and prevent equipment damage.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience operating a Jumbo Drill machine in the mining industry.

• Capacity to understand and follow instructions accurately.

• A positive attitude with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively within a team.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application.
