JChat Engineering Support – NS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Assist in the preparation of a new release for the JChat Java Client.

• Assist in the preparation of a new release for the JChat Web Client.

• Assist in the preparation of a new release for the JChat Openfire Server.

• Assist in the preparation of a new release for the M-Link server for JChat.

• Represent the JChat team during testing events.

• Manage the development pipeline.

⛳️ Requirements

• The ideal candidate holds a degree in informatics, computer science, or a closely related engineering discipline.

• The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of experience in software development using Java, including Java Swing and web development with Angular.

• The ideal candidate is proficient in producing efficient, clear, readable, maintainable, and high-quality code.

• The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in developing chat-related products based on XMPP, including but not limited to implementing XEPs, working with the M-LINK Server, the Openfire Server, and the Openfire plugin framework, as well as troubleshooting XMPP communication.

• The ideal candidate has substantial experience working within a Scrum framework.

• The ideal candidate possesses relevant and recent experience in continuous software integration and automated testing, including familiarity with test automation frameworks, using Maven, Jira, GitLab, and Zephyr.

• The ideal candidate exhibits a flexible, collaborative, and customer-focused attitude; sets high standards for quality and productivity; monitors and maintains quality and productivity; and works in a systematic, methodical, and organized manner.

• The ideal candidate is fluent in both spoken and written English, as the work is conducted in English.

• The ideal candidate holds the nationality of one of the NATO nations.

• Must possess a valid NATO SECRET (or higher) Security Clearance starting from the contract's commencement date.
