Java Engineer, AI Enabled

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable, high-performance microservices utilizing Java 17/21+ and Spring Boot.

• Architect and execute autonomous AI agents using Spring AI or LangChain4j.

• Develop systems featuring multi-step reasoning, dynamic tool usage, and memory management.

• Integrate commercial Azure Co-pilot into enterprise applications through RESTful APIs.

• Create, test, and version-control complex prompts to ensure deterministic, safe, and accurate model outputs.

• Utilize skills and agents md files for long-term maintainability.

• Implement guardrails, rate limiting, fallback mechanisms, and observability tracing to ensure reliable and secure AI functionalities.

• Collaborate with App Engineers, product managers, data scientists, and frontend developers to define AI use cases and deliver comprehensive user experiences on Mobile Apps.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience for this position.

• Prior experience as a Java Developer with Spring Boot.

• Familiarity with Agentic AI and LLMs.

• Knowledge of LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks.

• Strong technical writing abilities for documenting APIs, architecture, and developer guides.
