Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain the fundamental Java components of BotCity's Products.

• Create solutions using Core Java, emphasizing clarity, maintainability, and performance.

• Produce clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested code, taking ownership from requirements through to production.

• Thoughtfully apply design patterns and object-oriented principles in the architecture of solutions.

• Implement and enhance routines that necessitate concurrency control, thread management, and JVM resource handling.

• Develop robust unit tests to ensure coverage and promote testable code design from the outset.

• Engage in code reviews that prioritize technical quality, highlighting design enhancements and readability.

• Clearly and promptly communicate any blockers and progress updates.

• Analyze and tackle performance issues, pinpointing bottlenecks in JVM behavior and application code.

• Document technical decisions and contribute to the advancement of the team's development standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience (4+ years) with core Java.

• Expertise in Design Patterns, JUnit, Mockito, Solid & Clean code, and OOP principles.

• Experience in developing OS-aware or system-level Java applications (such as desktop agents, daemons, or native integrations).

• Proficient in using version control systems like Git and GitHub, along with CI/CD practices.

• Takes full ownership from problem identification to solution delivery, with a focus on speed, quality, and accountability.

• Works collaboratively, communicates clearly, welcomes feedback, and continuously strives to elevate their performance and that of their peers.

• Familiar with MS Office/Excel, Google Suite, and Notion.

• Fluent in Portuguese.

• Advanced proficiency in English.

• Willingness to travel as necessary to support events and connect with the team.
