Java Backend QA Engineer, White-box Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement white-box and grey-box testing strategies for Java-based backend services, encompassing unit, integration, and API testing.

• Analyze and interpret Java source code to uncover edge cases, logical errors, and potential risk factors.

• Construct and sustain automated testing frameworks and tools for financial backend systems.

• Collaborate with developers on code evaluations, test coverage assessments, and quality gates within the CI/CD pipeline.

• Validate and test blockchain transactions, web3 wallet functionalities, and the consistency of on-chain/off-chain data.

• Examine production issues, tracing root causes through logs, database records, and service call chains.

• Utilize AI tools (such as LLM-assisted test generation, log analysis, and code reviews) to enhance testing effectiveness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 1 year of experience in software testing or backend development.

• Strong grasp of Java, with the ability to read, write, and debug Java code proficiently.

• Practical experience in backend testing, including REST APIs, message queues (like Kafka), and databases (MySQL/Redis).

• Familiarity with microservice architecture and concepts related to distributed systems.

• A keen analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a drive to identify and resolve issues (positively).

• Background in fintech, cryptocurrency, or blockchain-related testing.

• Understanding of web3 wallets, on-chain data, or decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.

• Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Dubbo, or similar Java technologies.

• Proficiency in utilizing AI-assisted tools in everyday engineering tasks.

• Exposure to white-box testing methodologies, including code coverage, mutation testing, and static analysis.
