Java Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend services and APIs.

• Build and optimize microservices and distributed systems for high-volume applications.

• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams.

• Design and implement secure, scalable data models and database architectures.

• Integrate internal and external systems through RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.

• Ensure application performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical strategy.

• Maintain engineering standards through code reviews, testing, and best practices.

• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive continuous improvements.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in backend software development.

• Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Java, C#, Node.js, Python, or Go.

• Experience in building and maintaining REST APIs and backend services.

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture.

• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and/or NoSQL databases.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of software design patterns and scalable system architecture.

• Experience with Git and modern development workflows.

• Experience in financial services, fintech, banking, or payment systems is preferred.

• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data protection best practices is preferred.

• Experience with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar is preferred.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes is preferred.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools is preferred.

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures is preferred.

• Exposure to high-availability and mission-critical systems is preferred.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.

• Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

• Comfortable working with cross-functional and global teams.

• Experience with trading platforms, financial systems, or real-time data processing applications is a plus.

• Previous experience scaling enterprise-grade backend platforms serving large user bases is a plus.
