Japanese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Be knowledgeable about the specific vocabulary within the interpreter's industry, particularly in healthcare and medical settings. Training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and the Client by providing accurate and complete interpretation of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Japanese".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience in a recognized interpretation company is advantageous, but not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus, though not required.

• Awareness of legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare field are advantageous (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• A high school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
