This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assess the quality, creativity, coherence, originality, prompt adherence, and musical context of AI-generated lyrics.

• Detect awkward phrasing, repetitive elements, weak imagery, unnatural language, and inconsistencies in style.

• Compare AI-generated lyrics with existing songs and reference materials to find meaningful similarities and derivative trends.

• Evaluate Japanese vocabulary, slang, colloquial expressions, regional usage, idiomaticity, and cultural authenticity.

• Analyze lyrics across various genres, sub-genres, musical styles, target audiences, tones, and performance contexts.

• Consistently apply detailed evaluation guidelines and provide structured written feedback along with ratings.

• Identify common weaknesses in AI models related to language, creativity, originality, and cultural nuances.

• Contribute specialized expertise in Japanese music and language to enhance generative AI systems.

• Work autonomously while ensuring consistent evaluation standards throughout different tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese language.

• Strong capability to comprehend detailed written instructions in English.

• Professional background as a songwriter, lyricist, performer, composer, music journalist, or a closely related music field.

• In-depth knowledge of the Japanese music industry.

• Excellent grasp of natural Japanese phrasing, slang, idiomatic expressions, and cultural nuances.

• Strong analytical judgment in evaluating lyrical quality and originality.

• Access to headphones or studio monitors that are suitable for critical listening.

• Wide-ranging familiarity with contemporary Japanese genres, sub-genres, and artists.

• Ability to work independently and consistently apply detailed evaluation criteria.

• Candidates may need to complete a Japanese bilingual competency assessment during onboarding.

• Work must be performed without utilizing any confidential or proprietary information from employers, clients, institutions, or other third parties.
