This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.
• Establish and uphold the target-state architecture for IT and OT infrastructure, encompassing networks, servers, virtualization, cloud platforms, identity, and ancillary services.
• Create secure, resilient, and scalable architectures for enterprise and plant environments, ensuring adherence to availability, performance, and operational safety standards.
• Develop and sustain architecture standards, patterns, and reference designs tailored for IT and OT environments.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, application, and OT teams to guarantee consistent application of standards and integration across various domains.
• Work alongside OT teams to architect and secure infrastructure for ICS, DCS, PLCs, SCADA, and plant network environments.
• Facilitate secure IT/OT convergence while considering operational limitations, safety, and uptime requirements.
• Ensure that OT infrastructure designs are in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory expectations for industrial settings.
• Integrate security-by-design principles into all IT and OT infrastructure architectures.
• Establish and enforce cybersecurity architecture controls in accordance with frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53/82, IEC 62443, and Zero Trust principles.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to develop controls for network segmentation, identity and access management, monitoring, logging, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Take part in architecture and security risk assessments; identify deficiencies and drive remediation through design and engineering standards.
• Ensure that infrastructure solutions align with corporate policies, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in audits, risk assessments, and tabletop exercises by providing architectural insights and documentation.
• Maintain precise architecture documentation, diagrams, and decision records.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to IT, OT, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders.
• Offer architectural guidance during project intake, design reviews, and technology evaluations.
• Mentor infrastructure engineers and promote knowledge transfer to minimize key-person dependencies.
• Assess emerging technologies and propose enhancements to boost security, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Over 7 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure engineering and architecture.
• Proven experience supporting both IT and OT environments within industrial or manufacturing organizations.
• Strong expertise in network, server, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure (on-premises and hybrid).
• Familiarity with identity and access management, directory services, and authentication platforms.
• Practical knowledge of OT/ICS architectures, including plant networks and industrial protocols.
• Demonstrable experience designing infrastructure with integrated cybersecurity controls.
• Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity architecture principles and frameworks (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443).
• Experience in designing secure architectures for segmented networks, privileged access, monitoring, and resilience.
• Ability to convert cybersecurity requirements into actionable infrastructure designs.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk-management abilities.
• Capacity to influence without authority and effectively collaborate in a matrixed organization.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, chemical, or regulated environments.
• Cloud architecture certifications (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).
• Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP) or OT security certifications.
