IT Systems – Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Ownership of the Addigy MDM platform, including policy creation, configuration profiles, application deployments, and lifecycle management for the DataXstream Mac environment.

• Administration of Microsoft 365, covering Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and management of Microsoft 365 licenses throughout the organization.

• Management of Microsoft Intune for endpoint oversight of Windows and mobile devices, in conjunction with Addigy for the Mac fleet.

• Oversight of the Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center, focusing on data governance, compliance policies, and security alert management within the M365 framework.

• Conducting security operations, including SIEM monitoring, log analysis, alert triage, and escalation; managing endpoint security tools; and tracking vulnerability awareness.

• Providing compliance support through participation in audit preparation, security policy compliance assessments, and alignment with security frameworks as the organization enhances its posture.

• Facilitating employee onboarding and offboarding, managing device provisioning, M365 account lifecycle, and access management in collaboration with the IT Support Specialist.

• Overseeing identity and access management, including Entra ID/Azure AD user and group administration, enforcing MFA, and supporting conditional access policies.

• Participating in the IT Operations on-call rotation for responding to security incidents and endpoint emergencies.

• Contributing to secrets management and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives related to endpoint and security tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• A strong interest in and exposure to endpoint management; any experience with MDM platforms (Addigy, Jamf, Intune, or similar) is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, with any hands-on experience in Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, or M365 administration in any role being beneficial.

• Basic foundational knowledge of security concepts, including monitoring and alert management; relevant coursework, certifications, or practical projects are all considered valuable.

• Understanding of identity and access management principles: Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, MFA, and conditional access.

• Experience in supporting IT help desk functions or onboarding/offboarding processes in any capacity.

• Proficiency in administering macOS and the Apple ecosystem, as all endpoints at DataXstream utilize macOS.

• Strong command line skills, with comfort in using the terminal for system administration, scripting, and troubleshooting tasks.

• Ability to script with Bash, Python, or PowerShell for tasks related to endpoint management, automation, and security tooling; macOS scripting experience is a bonus.

• Willingness to engage in on-call rotation for responding to security incidents.

• Strong written communication skills, ensuring thorough documentation of learning and changes made.

• Proficiency in English.
