IT Project Cost Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Assist the government in formulating lifecycle cost estimates during the program planning and budgeting process.

• Evaluate program requirements and facilitate workshops/interviews with program stakeholders to identify essential inputs for the development of LCCE utilizing the SEER toolset.

• Collaborate with the government in the creation and upkeep of the IT program Lifecycle Cost Estimate.

• Aid in the development and execution of advanced cost estimating, cost modeling, and analytical capabilities required for generating and maintaining the IT program Lifecycle Cost Estimate using SEER suite tools.

• Contribute to economic analyses of IT projects, various analyses of alternatives, and other related initiatives to support investment decisions.

• Adhere to the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) best practices for cost estimation.

• Establish and support the financial analysis and forecasting of cloud-related services acquired by the decennial program to effectively manage cloud financial obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS/BA degree in engineering, economics, finance, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 5 years of direct work experience with the Census Bureau.

• Proven experience and expertise with cost estimating toolsets for estimating Information Technology solutions, including applications, infrastructure, and other IT services.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, including analyzing structured data, creating repeatable analyses, and ensuring analytical defensibility.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills essential for functioning in small, collaborative teams.

• Capacity to obtain and retain a Public Trust security clearance.
