IT Network Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, maintain, and enhance Cisco and Fortinet network infrastructure.

• Configure and provide support for firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless technologies.

• Monitor network performance and proactively seek opportunities for improvement.

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate network and security challenges.

• Offer escalation support for Help Desk and infrastructure incidents.

• Create and maintain network documentation, procedures, and standards.

• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to meet business objectives.

• Engage in infrastructure projects and technology initiatives.

• Assist in maintaining optimal levels of network availability, security, and performance.

• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide support for after-hours needs as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in Network Engineering within an enterprise IT environment.

• Cisco CCNA or Fortinet NSE4 certification is mandatory.

• Strong expertise in routing and switching technologies.

• Proficiency in firewall administration and network security.

• Knowledge of OSPF and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).

• Experience with IPSEC and SSL VPN technologies.

• Skills in network monitoring and performance optimization.

• Proficient in troubleshooting and incident resolution.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in supporting Cisco and Fortinet environments is preferred.
