IT Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, implement, and provide support for KGS’s global network, connectivity, voice, and remote-access services.

• Configure, deploy, and maintain the routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and firewall infrastructure across the enterprise WAN and LAN.

• Configure and fine-tune VLANs, routing protocols, spanning tree, QoS, DNS, DHCP, and IP address management.

• Plan, deploy, and troubleshoot WIFI networks, including conducting site surveys, configuring controllers and access points, and optimizing RF performance.

• Configure and manage VPN, remote-access, and network access control services.

• Monitor network health, identify and diagnose faults, and conduct packet capture and protocol analysis.

• Modernize legacy network and voice infrastructure utilizing SD-WAN, UCaaS, VoIP, and centralized network management.

• Perform technical analysis, performance tuning, capacity monitoring, and load testing; generate design documentation, work instructions, test cases, and root cause analysis reports.

• Deploy and support UCaaS and VoIP platforms.

• Enhance connectivity and voice reliability through effective problem management, automation, and optimized processes.

• Support NetSecOps and collaborate with the Managed Security Services Provider regarding network security events.

• Assist with audits and penetration testing, including the remediation of findings and vulnerabilities.

• Support incident response and disaster recovery strategies for network and cybersecurity events.

• Provide second- and third-level support for escalated network, connectivity, and voice incidents and service requests.

• Implement ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management practices within the ITSM tool.

• Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to deploy, integrate, upgrade, or decommission network hardware and software.

• Support IT/OT integration with Manufacturing Engineering, Process Control, and Operational Technology functions.

• Develop and support network automation and self-service solutions.

• Assess and assist in the adoption of emerging networking technologies.

• Apply continuous-improvement methodologies while promoting IT policies, health and safety standards, and KGS values.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Over 4 years of hands-on experience in engineering and supporting enterprise networks, connectivity, and voice services.

• Equivalent experience may replace the requirement for a bachelor’s degree.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco/Meraki routing and switching, firewalls, WIFI planning and troubleshooting, and network and fiber cabling.

• Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN, NAC, and QoS.

• Experience in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and packet/protocol analysis.

• Familiarity with ITIL practices and practical experience in Change and Problem Management.

• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

• Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional on-call and after-hours requirements.

• Experience with SD-WAN, UCaaS, or VoIP platforms.

• Proficient in network automation and scripting, including Python and Ansible.

• Experience with NetSecOps tools, such as NGFW, IPS/IDS, NAC, and VPN.

• Exposure to IT/OT integration or Operational Technology networks.

• Experience collaborating with technology vendors and managed service providers.

• Demonstrated ability to produce technical and network design documentation.

• Possession of network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Cisco Meraki certifications.

• ITIL Foundation certification.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

• Capacity to multitask, prioritize, and operate effectively under pressure and deadlines.

• Ability to work collaboratively across a global matrix organization.
