Investment Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Oversee the assessment of potential companies, concentrating on their commercial viability, scalability, and alignment with strategic goals.

• Perform thorough due diligence on financials, operations, and fundamental business aspects, highlighting actionable insights.

• Collaborate directly with founders and senior management to validate assumptions and evaluate their capabilities.

• Revise financial statements when necessary and create internal investment memos to facilitate decision-making.

• Develop and sustain a pipeline of high-potential companies.

• Function as a hands-on execution leader, actively driving results.

• Assist in designing internal systems aimed at monitoring and accelerating the growth of portfolio companies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience with a robust entrepreneurial or commercial investment background.

• Previous experience as a co-founder or operator in a startup environment.

• Familiarity with venture capital, private equity, or corporate mergers and acquisitions.

• Background in strategic investment or corporate development.

• Proficient in assessing business models, unit economics, and growth potential.

• Comfortable interacting directly with founders and management teams.

• Experience working in small, high-trust teams while taking complete ownership of projects.

• Hands-on and execution-oriented; not solely advisory in approach.

• Formal finance qualifications are beneficial, but practical experience is prioritized.
