International Accountant, VAT Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Oversee the gathering and organization of invoices and necessary documentation for VAT reporting across entities in Cyprus.

• Utilize AI tools to process financial documents, extracting and structuring financial data effectively.

• Compile and examine VAT reports, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial information.

• Liaise and collaborate with external tax consultants in Cyprus by providing reporting packages and supporting documents.

• Assess and authorize VAT returns prepared by external advisors, ensuring compliance and precision prior to submission.

• Spearhead the VAT refund process in Cyprus, coordinating documentation and managing communications with advisors and stakeholders.

• Generate VAT-related analytics and insights to aid internal decision-making and financial planning.

• Engage in the establishment and development of the international accounting function within SKELAR.

• Recognize opportunities to automate and enhance VAT reporting processes, implementing solutions that boost efficiency and data quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or tax (experience with Big 4, consulting firms, or international businesses is advantageous).

• Strong comprehension of accounting principles and document workflows.

• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to maintain high data accuracy.

• Structured thinking complemented by strong organizational abilities.

• Analytical mindset with the aptitude to work with financial data.

• Interest in optimizing processes and embracing automation.

• Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets.

• Upper-intermediate proficiency in English (both written and spoken).

• Proactive approach with a readiness to take ownership of processes.
