This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• We are seeking a Content Marketing Intern to assist in managing our publishing workflow. This role is essential within the Content & Marketing team, where you will collaborate closely with writers, SEO experts, and team leads to ensure content is published accurately, consistently, and meets our quality standards.
• Your primary duty will involve uploading and formatting content on our CMS, ensuring that every page adheres to our quality benchmarks. This entails checking SEO fundamentals, identifying editorial issues, and flagging content gaps prior to publication.
• You will engage in light editing and refinement when necessary, but your main focus will be acting as a quality gatekeeper: addressing any broken elements, missing content, or inconsistencies with our templates and brand voice.
• Additionally, you will support the broader content team with operational tasks such as auditing pages, maintaining documents, and executing process-driven tasks that facilitate workflow continuity.
• This position goes beyond merely publishing pages. You will gain insights into how content operations, SEO, and publishing workflows interconnect at scale, and understand how robust systems keep a global content engine functioning smoothly. Starting from week one, you will contribute meaningful work and gain hands-on experience in how high-quality content is delivered across a dynamic marketplace.
• Keen attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to accurately follow templates and editorial guidelines
• Basic understanding of what constitutes clear and useful content
• Comfortable engaging with AI-generated content and recognizing its shortcomings
• Strong research and fact-checking instincts
• Experience with uploading, formatting, and structuring content on our CMS (Prismic)
• Ensure the correct implementation of headings, links, and page structure
• Maintain consistent formatting and layout across all pages
• Review AI-generated drafts against our templates prior to publication
• Verify SEO fundamentals: meta title, meta description, internal linking
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or content that fails to meet our standards
• Conduct light editing as necessary: address clarity issues, eliminate repetition, enhance flow
• Collaborate with team leads/writers when necessary to elevate content quality
• Assist the team with page audits and content hygiene tasks
• Help maintain and update internal documents as required
• Manage process-driven tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the content pipeline
• Process-oriented: You adhere to systems and notify when something is amiss
• Detail-focused: You identify inconsistencies that others may overlook
• Clarity-first: You prioritize usefulness and readability over impressiveness
• Ownership-driven: You care about the final product, not just completing tasks
• Comfortable with ambiguity: You can work with rough drafts and incomplete information
• Critical editor: You don’t accept content at face value; you question, refine, and enhance it. Bonus points if you know when to use an em dash and when to omit it from a copy.
• Genuine ownership from day one: Your contributions will go live on Headout, utilized by millions of travelers booking experiences in over 100 cities worldwide. You will engage in actual publishing workflows and operational tasks that directly influence the quality of our content.
• Learn about content operations at scale: You will gain practical experience in content operations, SEO, CMS publishing, and editorial workflows while working on content across a global marketplace.
• Broader exposure beyond content: You will observe how content, product, SEO, and growth collaborate behind the scenes and gain an understanding of how different teams work together to enhance discoverability and user experience.
• A culture focused on quality: We operate quickly, but we are deeply committed to clarity, consistency, and usefulness. You will be part of an environment where attention to detail is valued and feedback fosters improvement for everyone.
• A team that emphasizes ownership: You will work directly with the content and SEO teams, enjoying real accountability from week one. This position is not about busywork; you will help maintain critical publishing pipelines effectively.
• Contributing to a product that people genuinely use: Headout enables individuals to discover and book tours, attractions, and activities worldwide. There’s a fulfilling aspect to working on content that assists someone in planning an unforgettable experience in a new city.
