This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Accountable for analyzing, developing, and enhancing industrial processes.
• Assists in the design and analysis of mechanical components and system designs for both nuclear and commercial projects.
• Works collaboratively with production teams, quality control, and other engineers to ensure processes operate efficiently and adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
• Utilizes engineering principles to design products such as chemical engineering systems, including reaction vessels, filtration systems, ion-exchange skids, and piping and vessel systems.
• Conducts various engineering calculations using traditional methods to verify compliance with project and code requirements.
• May perform experiments and tests to aid in the development of design documents and plant modifications.
• Ensures that relevant design criteria, specifications, practices, procedures, codes, and site design along with safety and licensing basis are utilized in the preparation of design media.
• Collaborates in multi-disciplinary teams on project-based assignments and guarantees integration of design across various disciplines.
• Will mentor and perform quality reviews of junior colleagues' work as necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or a related Engineering field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Experience in the nuclear industry is preferred.
• A solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals is essential.
• Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks.
• Capable of completing complex technical work with minimal supervision.
• Advanced knowledge and application of fundamental principles and concepts related to process and systems design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to manage tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
• Must be eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
• U.S. citizenship is required for consideration.
