Intermediate Data Engineer, Power BI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines utilizing Databricks.

• Extract, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data from various enterprise data sources.

• Create and manage interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for HR and People Analytics.

• Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.

• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across reporting environments.

• Enhance existing data models and reporting solutions for improved performance and scalability.

• Collaborate with HR stakeholders to comprehend reporting needs and convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Diagnose data issues and implement sustainable resolutions.

• Document data processes, models, and technical solutions.

• Support ongoing improvements to the organization's analytics and reporting capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-centric role.

• Strong proficiency with Databricks.

• Advanced skills in SQL development.

• Demonstrated experience in developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.

• Experience in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Understanding of data modeling and data warehousing principles.

• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Ability to work independently within a remote, globally distributed team.
