This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess and pinpoint the best interconnection opportunities across targeted markets, taking into account capacity availability, costs, timelines, and associated risks.
• Submit requests for interconnection and act as the main liaison with utilities during the entire interconnection process and facility construction.
• Oversee all project queue positions and monitor interconnection processes, including study timings, schedule implications, and interconnect requests.
• Negotiate outcomes of interconnection studies and agreements with utilities to achieve favorable results for projects.
• Coordinate actions to fulfill all interconnection agreements, which include applications, studies, agreements, and post-IA project execution milestones.
• Manage responsibilities during the engineering phase to finalize interconnection designs and their updates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (site acquisition managers, developers, construction teams, utilities, and engineers) to support the interconnection process.
• Represent the company at stakeholder meetings, monitor tariff modifications, and engage in interconnection reform discussions.
• Conduct due diligence in acquisitions to identify execution risks related to project-level interconnections.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy interconnection, transmission planning, and/or power systems engineering.
• In-depth understanding of utility interconnection processes, particularly at the distribution level.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a talent for influencing outcomes.
• Demonstrated capability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Experience collaborating with utilities, consultants, and various internal teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude, with the ability to convert complex technical information into practical insights.
• High level of attention to detail, a sense of ownership, and accountability for results.
• Experience in managing project schedules, budgets, and external consultants.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Preferred: Knowledge of solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with interconnection processes in key U.S. markets such as CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, and MISO.
• An advanced degree in engineering, energy systems, planning, or a related field is preferred.
