This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Conduct strategic analysis of interconnection processes, queuing systems, and transmission networks within a designated RTO/ISO to guide and shape greenfield project siting.
• Prepare and oversee interconnection requests leading to an Interconnection Agreement that secures the most advantageous terms available.
• Assist the CAISO Interconnection (IC) Regional Lead in advancing projects through the interconnection process.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the wider Development Team to enhance positioning throughout the development lifecycle.
• Track the advancement of necessary system upgrades and devise innovative mitigation strategies when required, following the applicable open access transmission tariff.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems or a related discipline.
• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in renewable or conventional energy development, utility generation development, or transmission planning.
• Proficiency in analyzing and ideally operating power flow models.
• Familiarity with System Impact Studies (SIS) and other interconnection assessments for transmission-level renewable energy generation facilities involving CAISO, PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, and SMUD.
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, preliminary site plans, and prepare interconnection request packages for submission.
• Knowledge of transmission systems and expansion plans in the United States.
• Understanding of Open Access Transmission Tariffs and Generator Interconnection Procedures.
• Familiarity with Interconnection and Transmission Agreements and Contracts.
