This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +32 more states.
β’ Conduct research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate and compliant Professional and Hospital coding practices.
β’ Create, maintain, and revise coding guidance, standard operating procedures, reference materials, and position statements to guarantee enterprise-wide consistency.
β’ Facilitate and support coding quality audits by managing requests, maintaining documentation records, and verifying the completeness and accuracy of documentation.
β’ Evaluate coding quality data and audit findings to pinpoint trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
β’ Collaborate with Integrity Operations, coding leadership, clinicians, and educational teams to enhance documentation quality and coding precision.
β’ An Associate degree or equivalent education and experience is required.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in expert-level professional coding or hospital-based coding.
β’ Certification from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC.
β’ In-depth knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
β’ Strong organizational and communication skills.
