This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the commissioning of HMI systems and create strong connections with PLCs, ensuring optimal communication and functionality across customer systems.
• Carry out comprehensive hardware testing and validate system performance to guarantee compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct thorough system functionality tests, ensuring complete and seamless integration with the customer's Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to swiftly and effectively identify and resolve hardware and software issues, maintaining project timelines.
• Attain and uphold an expert-level understanding of the software and hardware utilized in commissioning activities, ensuring proficiency in all tools and systems.
• Spearhead the startup, commissioning, and testing of PLC-controlled equipment at customer locations, adhering to project deadlines and quality standards.
• Carry out system integration testing of Symbotic adapter cells, storage solutions, and safety systems, ensuring full compatibility with customer WMS interfaces.
• Perform tasks as specified in the Commissioning Services Scope of Work (SOW), including control cabinet startup, software loading, configuration, and performance validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, software, and customer support) to facilitate a smooth commissioning process and provide ongoing technical support during system go-live.
• Oversee the commissioning of PLC controllers, ensuring accurate configuration and optimal performance for customer sites.
• Manage the commissioning of HMI systems, ensuring complete connection and integration with PLCs.
• Carry out end-to-end hardware testing, ensuring all systems function according to customer and project specifications.
• Conduct high-level system functionality testing to ensure full integration with the customer’s WMS, making necessary adjustments to meet customer requirements.
• Use advanced diagnostic utilities to assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues.
• A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Experience with and/or exposure to one or more of the following areas: PLC Systems, including Rockwell Automation, Allen Bradley, Siemens, and HMI systems.
• Robotics experience, particularly with ABB and Fanuc.
• Knowledge of industrial networks, including Ethernet/IP and ProfiNet.
• Experience with interface operators, specifically Panel View Plus.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with motion control equipment (e.g., Variable Frequency Drives, VFDs) is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot and provide remote system support using tools like Remote Desktop, SSH, and web browsers.
• Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Capability to effectively prioritize tasks and execute in high-pressure situations.
