This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Manage daily import files to refresh insurance records with up-to-date vendor details.
• Assess rejected loans prior to finalizing daily insurance payments.
• Oversee and respond to inquiries in the team email inbox.
• Examine closing documents within the imaging system for investigative purposes.
• Generate reports and logs, and dispatch policies or information to vendors.
• Evaluate monthly lender-placed insurance invoices and execute payments.
• Develop and maintain procedural documentation.
• Investigate insurance lines during monthly evaluations.
• Address HOA research inquiries, request payments, and send correspondence to collect amounts owed.
• Process daily flood files for newly activated loans and forward them to the flood vendor.
• Reconcile flood files for loans that have been transferred.
• Supervise deposits and disbursements of Loss Draft funds between SMS and the insurance vendor.
• Execute additional assigned tasks and special projects.
• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Outstanding telephone etiquette.
• Ability to uphold a high degree of confidentiality.
• 1–3 years of experience in a comparable role.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
• Basic knowledge of Loss Mitigation, REO, Bankruptcy, and Foreclosure processes.
• Capability to research and understand state laws and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Skill in multi-tasking effectively.
• Proficient in time management and organizational skills.
• Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business or finance-related field.
• Preferred: Experience in mortgage banking or real estate financing.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and use a keyboard, mouse, and telephone for 7–8 hours daily.
• Sufficient speech and hearing for in-person and telephone communications for 7–8 hours daily.
• Adequate vision for computer monitor usage.
• Ability to remain seated at a desk for 7–8 hours daily.
