Insurance Risk Management Specialist – Remote (Eastern PA, New Jersey or New York)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Risk Management Services (RMS), offering advanced risk assessment, risk control consulting, and technical advice for intricate risks.

• Work collaboratively with underwriting and claims teams to enhance loss prevention initiatives, provide staff training, perform quality assurance evaluations, and suggest risk control strategies that improve underwriting outcomes, minimize losses, and boost customer service.

• Offer technical knowledge and support to internal UN and external clients within the SME's specialized technical field.

• Enhance the understanding of RMS staff regarding coverages, risk exposure assessment methods, and appropriate risk control programs within the SME's area of expertise.

• Provide technical consultation and support to Risk Management personnel within the SME area.

• Create or update RMS assessment reports and guidelines for the assigned specialty area.

• Develop and present SME-specific training seminars for internal and/or external clients within the specialty area.

• Execute extensive, special, and high-hazard risk assessment field surveys and reports within the specialty area.

• Manage and/or coordinate service delivery for major accounts within the specialty area as applicable.

• Remain updated on SME-specific technical subjects and develop or select new SME RM services for clients.

• Conduct quality assurance report assessments for the department on accounts based on individual line of business (LOB) criteria.

• Review, analyze, and track loss activities and trends (macro across the portfolio) and disseminate loss findings, trends, and lessons learned to internal and external stakeholders.

• Conduct analyses of significant losses to derive and communicate lessons learned.

• Collaborate with underwriting on specific LOB projects, initiatives, and specialized undertakings.

• Partner with underwriting and marketing to enhance broker and client comprehension of RMS products and services through prospective sales/agency meetings, external webinars, and presentations at select industry conferences.

• Engage in industry conferences and/or specific business segment groups and initiatives.

• Develop and deliver external webinars or RMS communications within the SME area.

• Take part in prospective sales/agency meetings.

• Join regional/national SME-specific associations and groups to stay informed about the latest technical advancements.

• Collaborate with RMS AVP and Marketing on the creation and/or revision of SME-specific Risk Management Advisories.

• Identify and evaluate RMS products and service offerings for clients within the SME area.

• Create RMS service tools and products for policyholders.

• Identify and tackle emerging risks within the technical segment.

• Work with marketing, legal, and communications on RMS materials and seminars as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred OR Master’s Degree preferred.

• 4-7 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the Risk Management or Loss Control field.

• Strong property risk control technical expertise and experience preferred.
