This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Lead the strategic vision for the pet insurance product suite, ensuring it aligns with MGA objectives, carrier expectations, and market opportunities.
• Develop and enhance underwriting guidelines, appetite statements, rating algorithms, and product structures to facilitate profitable growth.
• Identify unaddressed customer needs and emerging trends in the pet insurance industry, transforming insights into actionable product improvements and new product ideas.
• Oversee the complete product lifecycle—from ideation and feasibility evaluation to development, launch, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct thorough market research, competitive benchmarking, and customer segmentation to discover whitespace opportunities and guide product positioning.
• Track competitor pricing, coverage features, distribution strategies, and customer experiences to ensure IPG’s offerings remain distinct and relevant.
• Collaborate closely with actuarial teams to establish pricing strategies, risk models, and rating frameworks that balance competitiveness with profitability.
• Work with sales, marketing, and distribution partners to create effective go-to-market strategies, product messaging, and launch plans.
• Act as the internal and external subject matter expert for assigned pet insurance products, offering guidance to underwriting, claims, distribution, and customer service teams.
• Foster innovation across both insurance and non-insurance offerings, including wellness packages, loyalty programs, digital tools, and customer engagement features.
• Ensure that all product materials, policy wording, and rating structures comply with regulatory and carrier requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science.
• Over 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a preference for exposure to pet insurance, personal lines, or MGA environments.
• Proven experience in developing and managing insurance products, pricing strategies, and underwriting frameworks.
• Strong comprehension of insurance market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and compliance processes.
• Analytical mindset with the capability to interpret data, identify trends, and promote data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and creatively address complex challenges.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a collaborative approach across departments and levels of seniority.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• SQL or data-querying skills are preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with pet insurance market trends, customer behaviors, and distribution models is a significant advantage.
