This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Oversee litigation files from initiation to resolution, including preparation for trial, arbitration, and mediation.
• Draft, review, file, and serve pleadings, motions, and various litigation documents for attorney evaluation and consent.
• Prepare and manage written discovery, which includes drafting discovery requests and responses, as well as coordinating document production.
• Organize and schedule depositions, activities involving expert witnesses, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and other litigation-related events.
• Order, review, organize, and maintain medical records, billing statements, and other relevant case documentation.
• Develop exhibits, case summaries, witness files, and additional materials to support hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Manage electronic filing and service of legal documents in compliance with applicable court regulations and procedures.
• Track case deadlines, court requirements, and litigation calendars to ensure timely and compliant case management.
• Maintain organized litigation files, including claim files, discovery materials, expert records, and case-related documentation.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, expert witnesses, vendors, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders to facilitate case progression.
• Must satisfy all relevant paralegal certification, registration, or licensure requirements as outlined by Maryland state.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a paralegal, ideally in insurance defense, bodily injury, or civil litigation.
• Experience in supporting litigation that involves bodily injury and/or third-party liability.
• Strong grasp of legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, court filings, and trial preparation.
• Familiarity with Maryland litigation practices and electronic court filing systems is highly preferred.
• Experience in coordinating expert witnesses, depositions, and other litigation-related activities.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with the capability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
