Insurance Accounts Receivable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage assigned insurance accounts receivable with precision, efficiency, and a strong sense of responsibility.

• Actively follow up on pending claims and insurance denials to ensure prompt resolution.

• Investigate, prepare, submit, and monitor insurance appeals, including continuous follow-up on appeals.

• Effectively communicate with insurance representatives to resolve claim discrepancies and secure payments.

• Utilize excellent organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize daily tasks and meet deadlines.

• Interpret managed care contracts, including fee schedules and allowable amounts, to aid collection efforts.

• Confidently engage with non-participating providers and adhere to payer guidelines.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the insurance collection process and consistently apply best practices.

• Identify and independently resolve issues, employing sound judgment and meticulous attention to detail.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance regulations, and the insurance appeals process.

• Previous experience in healthcare insurance collections, ideally within an ambulatory or clinical environment.

• Proficient in computer usage and Windows-based software applications.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of the English language.

• Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, patients, and external partners.

• Customer-oriented mindset with the capability to positively represent the company to patients, insurance providers, and the public.

• Must have a minimum internet download speed of 50Mbps to effectively operate SIS.
