Insurance Accountant – Domain Trainee, English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Consistently record business transactions and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes.

• Engage in audit inquiries and provide support for accounts payable, asset accounting, and treasury functions.

• Conduct reconciliations for accounts, banks, systems, and intercompany transactions.

• Assist in generating monthly financial reports and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet timelines.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory, tax, corporate, and other compliance requirements.

• Analyze and prepare management information reports as necessary.

• Support the country finance manager and guarantee precision in accounting entries.

• Address stakeholder inquiries through email or phone communication.

• Regularly create and revise processes and internal documentation.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist in the standardization/automation of European procedures.

• Provide exceptional service standards and maintain up-to-date information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in economics, administration, accounting, or a related field.

• Familiarity with income statement and balance sheet principles.

• Proficient in English.

• Strong interpersonal abilities to foster effective teamwork.

• Detail-oriented with a well-organized and independent work approach.

• Capability to articulate findings clearly to avoid misunderstandings.

• Results-oriented with a drive to excel in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and strategize workload to meet deadlines.

• Inquisitive and eager to learn with a spirit of challenging conventions.

• Strong analytical skills and critical thinking with a proactive mindset.

• Minimum five years of accounting experience in a multinational setting.

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plus.

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, advanced Excel; familiarity with VBA is an advantage; knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems is beneficial.
