Instructional Technologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Develop courses authored by subject matter experts within the Canvas LMS.

• Partner with Academic Affairs leadership, faculty, and subject matter experts to pinpoint educational technology needs and construct Canvas LMS courses.

• Investigate and apply educational technologies.

• Oversee existing educational technologies.

• Resolve Canvas-related issues faced by faculty and students.

• Maintain regular communication with faculty as necessary.

• Attend faculty meetings and engage in institutional initiatives as required.

• Execute additional responsibilities assigned by the Director of Instructional Design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

• Proficiency with online learning platforms and technology.

• Expertise in Canvas LMS.

• Skilled in downloading, uploading, and managing standard file types within Canvas LMS, including Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoints, images, and MP4s.

• Acquainted with basic web page design principles.

• Knowledgeable about web accessibility principles.

• Capability to work independently using a guide/template.

• Ability to collaborate effectively.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Over 3 years of experience in higher education and/or instructional design.

• Familiarity with best practices in online instruction.

• Previous teaching experience.

• Experience in healthcare education.

• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.

• Experience in implementing and managing LTI applications.

• Strong proofreading skills.

• Familiarity with Respondus LockDown Browser.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Successful completion of necessary background clearances prior to hiring, including PA Statewide Criminal Record search, PA Child Abuse History, and FBI Criminal History record fingerprint search.
