This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-person assistance to students based on their Individualized Education Program (IEP).

• Facilitate student learning in General Education (GE) classes or Specially Designed Academic Instruction (SAI) classes in a group setting.

• Collaborate at tables for both GE and SAI with guidance from a credentialed teacher.

• Daily record student attendance minutes and the content of activities in designated workbooks.

• Gather work samples from interactions during push-in support in GE.

• Aid the education specialist in monitoring and gathering student performance data along with other IEP-related inputs.

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce the learning of materials and skills outlined by the teaching staff.

• Provide classroom support to enable students to fully engage in educational activities as assigned by a credentialed teacher.

• Act as a resource for various teams (e.g., IEP, Title 1, ESL).

• Attend mandatory training sessions related to individual students as specified by their IEP (e.g., medical procedures, etc.).

• Inspire students through effective communication and constructive feedback.

• Demonstrate a personal code of ethics that aligns with CAVA’s policies.

• Maintain all necessary records.

• Operate under the daily supervision and direction of the assigned credentialed teacher while adhering to district and administrative protocols.

• Uphold high expectations for all students and maintain a strong belief that every student can achieve success.

• Complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training as required for in-person student support.


⛳️ Requirements

• Have completed at least two years of study at a higher education institution (60+ college units).

• Possess an associate’s degree or higher.

• Achieve a passing score on the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST).

• Exhibit an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude towards students across various age groups, temperaments, and abilities, especially those with specialized needs.

• Demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information and materials appropriately.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and administrators.

• Must reside in the state of California.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

• Possess organizational and time-management abilities.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and experience using these applications in a professional setting.
