Instructional Coach, Math – Fixed Term

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Provide on-site support to educators up to four days a week, with the fifth day allocated for planning and preparation to address educators' needs.

• Work collaboratively with district and school leadership, as well as the Amplify STEM Professional Development Strategist, to establish strategies, focus areas, and coaching approaches throughout the year.

• Conduct classroom observations and offer constructive feedback to teachers and leaders.

• Deliver model lessons and co-teach in partnership with classroom teachers.

• Hold office hours for leaders and teachers to provide additional support.

• Assist grade-level teams and/or individual teachers with unit or lesson planning.

• Analyze student work and formative assessment data to inform instructional decisions and adapt to learner outcomes.

• Foster model classrooms to highlight and replicate effective planning and instructional best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A strong passion for math and extensive knowledge of problem-based learning methodologies.

• Proven experience in leading sustained coaching initiatives and professional development for educators in K-5 or 6-8 settings.

• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with leaders at various organizational levels.

• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in 6-8 math, resulting in measurable student outcomes.

• Experience in guiding educator teams through change management processes effectively.

• Familiarity with supporting the implementation of HQIM with diverse student populations, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners, utilizing research-based math practices.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing technology-based productivity tools, particularly Google Applications.

• Must reside in or near Montgomery County, MD, and be available for local travel (up to 4 days a week).
