Instructional Coach, Literacy – Fixed-Term

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Provide on-site support to educators for up to four days each week, with the fifth day reserved for planning and preparation to address educators' needs.

• Collaborate with district and school leadership, as well as the Amplify Literacy Professional Development Strategist assigned to the district or school.

• Conduct model lessons and participate in co-teaching with classroom instructors.

• Assist in unit or lesson planning alongside grade-level teams or individual teachers.

• Facilitate lesson study cycles for educators.

• Offer recommendations to school leadership aimed at improving outcomes and equity in learning for diverse student populations.

• Lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for leaders and/or teachers, including additional office hour consultations.

• Aid in data analysis and instructional planning with grade-level teams or individual educators and reading leaders.

• Examine student work and formative assessment data to support instructional decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• A strong passion for literacy and comprehensive knowledge of the science of reading and writing.

• Experience in leading extended coaching engagements and professional development for educators in grades K-5 or 6-8.

• Over 5 years of experience in K-5 or 6-8 literacy teaching, resulting in measurable student success.

• Proven experience in collaborative projects with educational leaders and teachers.

• Background in guiding educator teams through change management processes.

• Experience in data analysis and applying insights to improve practice.

• Established effectiveness in time management while juggling multiple engagements and competing priorities.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated proficiency in technology-based productivity tools, particularly Google Applications.

• Willingness to travel locally (up to four days per week) within the Edison Township, New Jersey area to support educators.
