
Instructional Coach, Literacy – Fixed Term

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Provide on-site support to educators up to four days a week, reserving the fifth day for planning and preparation to address educators' needs.
• Collaborate with district and school leadership, as well as the Amplify Literacy Professional Development Strategist assigned to the district or school.
• Work alongside district and school leadership to adapt strategies as necessary, focusing on enhancing student outcomes.
• Conduct classroom observations and offer constructive feedback to teachers and leaders to improve the implementation of Amplify's Literacy suite and boost student performance.
• Deliver model lessons and co-teach with classroom educators.
• Assist in unit and lesson planning with grade-level teams or individual teachers.
• Facilitate lesson study cycles for teachers.
• Provide actionable recommendations to school leadership aimed at improving outcomes and promoting equity in learning for diverse student groups.
• Lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for educational leaders and/or teachers.
• Analyze student work and formative assessment data to inform instructional decisions and respond effectively to learner outcomes.
• A strong passion for literacy along with a comprehensive understanding of the science of reading and writing.
• Proven experience in leading sustained instructional coaching initiatives and professional development for educators in grades K–5 or 6–8.
• Over 5 years of teaching experience in K-5 or 6-8 Literacy, resulting in measurable success for students.
• Experience collaborating on projects with educational leaders and teachers.
• Skilled in guiding educator teams through change management processes.
• Proficient in data analysis and utilizing insights to inform teaching practices.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in managing time while juggling multiple engagements and competing priorities.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Proven competence with technology-based productivity tools, especially Google Workspace.
• Willingness to travel locally (up to 4 days a week) throughout the Anne Arundel County area to support educators.
