Installation Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Install, remove, and/or certify equipment: Set up panoramic X-ray and cone beam systems along with their associated computers.

• Calibrate the systems to guarantee high-quality imaging and optimal functionality.

• Test and remove current equipment for either resale upon recertification or disposal.

• Enhance the knowledge of our Trusted Dental Technicians through co-travel certifications and supervise third-party assistants by assigning and overseeing tasks.

• Conduct performance evaluations on newly purchased equipment to verify quality and condition.

• Properly maintain tools and testing equipment.

• Possess a “handyman acumen” – a mechanical understanding of construction techniques is essential for the installation of capital equipment, electrical connections, and low-voltage wiring, along with comfort in using power and hand tools.

• Provide services: Deliver on-site or remote technical support for computers and dental imaging devices.

• Develop and sustain necessary technical documentation and procedures.

• Complete required internal and regulatory documentation, as well as expense reports, punctually.

• Install, troubleshoot, and configure digital systems managed by 1-2 computers linked via Ethernet and wireless methods.

• Act as a resource for our clients: Conduct training sessions for small groups of doctors and dental staff on basic equipment operations, hardware functions, and software training.

• Maintain consistent communication with clients and team members to ensure issues are resolved and followed up on, leading to customer satisfaction.

• Comply with health and human services, environmental health and safety, and other relevant regulatory standards.

• Utilize the escalation process to address customer service challenges and perform effective root cause analyses that lead to successful problem resolution.

• Collaborate as a team member to provide efficient and cost-effective service to all assigned clients.

• Take on additional responsibilities as requested.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate of an electronics/technology program and MSCE or equivalent IT certification.

• Basic skills and comfort with electrical and electromechanical systems.

• Minimum foundational IT knowledge related to operating systems, networking, etc.

• Understanding of residential and commercial building/construction methods is a plus.

• Proficient in using power hand tools and low-voltage systems, which will greatly assist in the installation of capital equipment in dental practices.

• Experience in installation or service with at least one of the leading market manufacturers of CBCT such as Sirona, Dexis, Instrumentarium, Planmeca, Carestream, Vatech, Axion, and Ray brand.

• Knowledge and experience in computer networking are desirable.

• Proximity to a major airport.

• Willingness to travel an average of 4 nights per week.

• Occasional weekend and holiday travel may be required.

• Capability to lift over 100 pounds.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport if international travel is necessary.

• Prior military experience is encouraged!
