This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Conduct virtual commercial inspections and plan evaluations in licensed areas (building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical) through video, images, or digital submissions.
• Detect defects, hazards, discrepancies, and compliance issues in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Record inspection outcomes utilizing approved reporting systems and communication methods.
• Relay inspection findings, necessary corrections, and expert recommendations to stakeholders.
• Counsel internal teams, contractors, and property owners on code violations and compliance matters.
• Offer technical assistance and support to inspection staff concerning field-related issues.
• Engage in cross-training with other inspection personnel.
• Provide excellent customer service and support throughout the inspection process.
• Stay updated on jurisdictional requirements and the Florida Building Code.
• Carry out other relevant tasks as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid State of Florida Residential Inspector License in one or more disciplines: Building (BN), Electrical (EN), Mechanical (MN), and/or Plumbing (PN).
• At least 2 years of experience in commercial inspections, construction, and/or plan reviews.
• Strong understanding of the Florida Building Code and relevant jurisdictional requirements.
• Ability to accurately interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
• High attention to detail and time management; capability to meet inspection turnaround deadlines.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting while collaborating with internal teams.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional remote working environment.
• Dedication to professionalism, accuracy, and ongoing learning.
• Active International Code Council Certification (ICC) is preferred.
• Experience with virtual or remote inspections is preferred.
