Inpatient Corporate Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Efficiently and accurately code and abstract patient health documentation for Tenet facilities.

• Evaluate flagged cases in CARDS and RevInt to ensure coding accuracy.

• Support coding quality assessments, audits, and secondary reviews as required.

• Participate in Tenet coding educational sessions.

• Uphold coding credentials.

• Contribute to productive coding efforts to sustain DNFC, conduct quality chart reviews, train new coders, and assist with other designated projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• 1–3 years of experience in inpatient coding.

• Proficient in the MS Office suite.

• Strong technical expertise and experience with electronic medical records.

• Successful completion of at least one AHIMA-certified program; preferred related professional credentials include RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS.

• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information, Nursing, or a related field is preferred.

• Years of coding experience may be accepted in place of educational qualifications.

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience is preferred.

• Experience coding within a large, complex healthcare system is preferred.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment coding proficiency assessment.
