This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for evaluating and interpreting documentation found in the medical records for both inpatient and outpatient services.
• Allocate diagnoses and procedure codes as specified by the attending physician(s).
• Adhere to the Standards of Ethical Coding established by the American Health Information Management Association.
• Completion of high school education.
• Previous experience in coding, specifically ICD-10-CM diagnoses/procedure coding and HCPCS/CPT procedure coding.
• Attainment of Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) within six months of employment.
• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding classification systems in an acute care or hospital environment or professional services context.
• Proficiency in using the 3M encoder and the Epic system.
