β’ Review inpatient medical records to ensure accurate assignment of DRGs and compliance with coding standards.
β’ Analyze patient charts to detect inconsistencies in coding or clinical documentation.
β’ Guarantee coding precision in line with CMS regulations and industry coding standards.
β’ Perform second-level reviews of DRGs, discharge dispositions, and Present on Admission (POA) indicators before billing.
β’ Work collaboratively with coding teams and clinical personnel to address documentation and coding inquiries.
β’ Engage in coding audits and initiatives aimed at quality improvement.
β’ Investigate and address coding or documentation denials related to DRG assignments.
β’ Offer guidance and training to coding personnel on best practices in documentation and coding.
β’ Assist with regulatory compliance and internal audit processes.
β’ At least 5 years of experience in inpatient coding.
β’ Proficiency in DRG validation, auditing, or coding quality review.
β’ Solid understanding of clinical documentation and coding compliance standards.
β’ Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
β’ Excellent analytical and communication abilities.
β’ An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related discipline is preferred.
β’ Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCS-P.
