This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Inpatient Coder holds the responsibility of accurately abstracting data into the designated electronic medical record systems of clients.
• Adheres to the Official ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Coding Guidelines.
• Conducts data entry for necessary abstracted patient information into the client's information system.
• Assigns Present on Admission (POA) indicators in alignment with AHA POA guidelines.
• Engages with physicians for queries when needed and collaborates with Clinical Documentation personnel as per account requirements.
• Maintains a consistent coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher while fulfilling productivity standards.
• The applicant must hold an approved AHIMA coding credential.
• A minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a level 1 trauma environment is required.
• Experience with Epic/3M or Dolby/Trucode is necessary.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding is essential.
