This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct investigations into Commercial Transportation claims, specifically focusing on Inland Marine and Cargo, involving physical damage to trucks, tractors, trailers, buses, commercial fleets, and specialized transportation equipment.
• Analyze policy language to ascertain coverage applicability, exclusions, limits, deductibles, and endorsements.
• Assess liability related to losses that occur while commercial vehicles are in the care, custody, or control of insured garage operations.
• Collect and evaluate repair estimates, maintenance records, inspection reports, photographs, contracts, invoices, and testimonials from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
• Coordinate inspections with appraisers, heavy equipment specialists, engineers, salvage vendors, and independent adjusters.
• Evaluate damages involving commercial vehicles, cargo-related equipment, specialized transportation units, and fleet assets.
• Set and maintain appropriate claim reserves based on potential exposure and severity.
• Negotiate settlements with insureds, fleet owners, repair facilities, attorneys, and third-party claimants within established authority limits.
• Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities against responsible parties, manufacturers, vendors, or contractors.
• Oversee litigation and collaborate closely with defense counsel on disputed liability or coverage issues.
• Detect and escalate claims that may be fraudulent for special investigation.
• Ensure accurate claim documentation and diary management in line with company protocols and regulatory standards.
• Provide timely and professional customer service to insureds, brokers, agents, fleet managers, and stakeholders in the transportation industry.
• Take part in claim audits, training programs, and process enhancement initiatives.
• 3–7 years of experience in handling commercial auto, transportation, trucking, garage liability, garage keepers, heavy equipment, or property damage claims.
• Proven experience managing claims related to heavy trucks, fleets, towing, recovery, repair facilities, dealerships, or transportation services.
• Extensive knowledge of Commercial Transportation insurance coverages, including Inland Marine & Cargo Legal Liability, Garage Liability, Commercial Auto, and Garage Keepers policies.
• Familiarity with trucking operations, fleet maintenance practices, vehicle repair processes, and exposures within the transportation industry.
• Experience in managing moderately complex claims involving commercial vehicles and transportation service operations.
• Strong skills in investigation, analysis, negotiation, decision-making, and litigation management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
