This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Actively engage in the design, development, testing, and operation of highly reliable services and software to model the network entities and relationships comprising Equinix’s global network.

• Offer technical guidance and collaborate with stakeholders to pinpoint network data and use cases that can enrich the unified network model, addressing critical business challenges that enhance network reliability, visibility, awareness, and planning capabilities.

• Create solutions that utilize data from the unified network model to deliver insights that improve product functionalities for customers, assist operations teams in managing customer escalations and maintenance planning, and inform capacity planning teams.

• Facilitate discussions among stakeholders to ensure consensus on software requirements and design trade-offs, taking into account performance, scalability, and reliability considerations.

• Maintain a proactive and collaborative approach while working with cross-functional teams, ensuring the smooth integration of the unified network model into Equinix Brain alongside other domains and Network-As-A-Service (NaaS) initiatives.

• Set a strong example through direct contributions and guide the establishment of development and operational best practices and standard methodologies.

• Participate in an on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in developing distributed, scalable, and highly available software services using Golang.

• Experience working for SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, or cloud-based firms, with a background in designing microservices and systems at scale emphasizing production readiness.

• Proven experience in building software as a service and managing services with 24x7 on-call rotations.

• Expertise in data management systems and technologies such as GCP Spanner, MongoDB, Redis, and Neo4J.

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, or other open-source alternatives.

• Knowledge of network management protocols like gRPC and Netconf.

• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., ISIS, BGP, BMP, LLDP) and their applications.

• Extensive experience in building and operating highly reliable distributed systems.

• Proficient in utilizing continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies: Github Actions and ArgoCD.

• Experience with public cloud services and technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Hands-on experience with observability stacks (metrics, logs, traces) such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Thanos.

• Familiarity with agile software development practices, including JIRA, peer reviews, Git, and CI/CD.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting and resolving distributed system challenges.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present findings, recommendations, and technical details to various stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.

• Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• Exceptional coding skills in Golang.

• Previous experience in building a network model or digital twin.

• Prior experience utilizing AI for real-time decision-making in network scenarios.
