Infrastructure Support Engineer

📋 Description

• Act as the primary escalation point for infrastructure-related challenges.

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot networking equipment from Cisco/Meraki, wireless systems, IBMi servers, and auction-specific infrastructure.

• Execute network cutovers, hardware replacements, and system validations while ensuring minimal downtime.

• Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and prevent disruptions on sale days.

• Keep precise site documentation, which includes network diagrams, equipment inventories, and configuration notes.

• Collaborate closely with IT teams and auction personnel to quickly and effectively resolve issues.

• Record all activities through tickets using Jira Service Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree, technical certifications, or equivalent practical IT experience.

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in IT support, infrastructure support, or field service roles.

• Knowledge of or experience (preferred) with Cisco/Meraki networking environments, including switches, wireless systems, and basic VLAN troubleshooting.

• Experience in supporting tier 2 escalations or more complex support environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with IBMi auction platform servers is advantageous (onboarding will include exposure to platform operations).

• Experience with Mobile Device Management is a plus.

• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time to various locations, sometimes on short notice.

• Excellent communication skills to engage with both technical teams and non-technical users.

• Capability to lift and rack IT equipment.
