Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Be the inaugural member of a new Platform team, taking charge of developing the infrastructure function from the ground up — from strategic planning to execution, with complete ownership and influence across the organization;

• Evolve the infrastructure that has developed alongside the product into a sophisticated, well-organized platform — featuring clear service mappings, dependency structures, and designated ownership areas;

• Advance Terraform and Kubernetes to a higher level of sophistication: implementing modular IaC architecture, standardized deployment processes, and autoscaling — ensuring that every release is both predictable and dependable;

• Establish a comprehensive observability system: including metrics, logs, traces, and alerting — enabling the team to proactively monitor system health rather than merely responding to problems as they arise;

• Enhance security measures: focusing on access management, secrets handling, and defense against external threats — embedding security as a fundamental element of the engineering culture;

• Streamline data infrastructure — guaranteeing stable and efficient data pipelines for analytics and informed business decision-making;

• Develop platform templates for new services — allowing product teams to prioritize feature development over infrastructure concerns;

• Collaborate across three primary business domains — Product, Growth/Marketing, and Payments — creating scalable solutions that benefit the entire organization rather than just individual teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in Infrastructure / DevOps;

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes + Helm (clusters, deployments, autoscaling, health checks);

• Proficiency in GCP — encompassing projects, networking, services, and access management;

• Expertise in Terraform — focusing on infrastructure as code, modules, and state management;

• Experience with CI/CD — constructing and maintaining pipelines;

• Familiarity with observability practices — including monitoring, logging, and alerting (Prometheus/Grafana or similar);

• Understanding of security principles — including access control, secrets management, and protection against external threats;

• Capability to write production-ready code — beyond mere scripting (Bash/Python), also able to contribute to backend development (Node.js/TypeScript) to address engineering challenges;

• Ownership mentality — proactively spotting risks, driving solutions, and considering business impact in decision-making;

• Regularly leveraging AI tools in your workflow to enhance efficiency and broaden perspectives.
