Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Maintain operational infrastructure and ensure it remains current - take ownership of the health of production systems across diverse cloud providers and on-premises hardware, which includes patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance.

• Quickly transform requirements into functional infrastructure - efficiently translate technical requirements from engineering and product teams into operational infrastructure with minimal back-and-forth communication.

• Anticipate and resolve issues before they escalate into incidents - utilize monitoring, conduct regular audits, and adopt a proactive approach to improve systems consistently.

• Lead incident response efforts - assess and address infrastructure incidents, communicate effectively with the company, and conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement enduring solutions.

• Control access to infrastructure and services - establish and manage IAM roles, policies, and permissions across cloud providers and internal tools to ensure teams can operate securely.

• Streamline repetitive operational tasks - leverage Terraform, Ansible, and scripting to minimize manual work; any task performed manually for the second time should be automated.

• Enhance and manage the monitoring infrastructure - maintain and improve our alerting and observability systems to ensure the signals we receive are meaningful rather than just noise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in managing large-scale Internet services in a production environment.

• Strong foundational knowledge in Linux system administration, including debugging at the operating system level.

• In-depth practical experience with Kubernetes in a production setting, encompassing deployment, debugging, and cluster maintenance.

• Proven experience in infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible in real-world production scenarios.

• Direct experience with at least one major cloud provider at a production scale; experience with GCP is highly advantageous.
