This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Develop, sustain, and oversee a centralized IT documentation repository that encompasses infrastructure systems, network architecture, server setups, and asset inventories.
• Create and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, technical manuals, and architectural diagrams for all IT infrastructure elements.
• Set and uphold documentation standards, templates, and version control practices within the IT team.
• Perform periodic reviews and audits of existing documentation to maintain accuracy, relevance, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Manage document lifecycle processes including creation, approval, revisions, and archiving.
• Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networking devices, storage systems, and related infrastructure.
• Document change management activities, such as system upgrades, patch schedules, and infrastructure alterations.
• Support incident management processes by keeping precise records of incidents, root cause analyses (RCA), and steps taken for resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to gather and translate technical knowledge into organized, clear documentation.
• Ensure IT documentation is consistent with ITIL frameworks, ISO 27001, or other relevant standards embraced by the organization.
• Facilitate internal and external audits by preparing and delivering accurate, up-to-date documentation packages.
• Identify documentation gaps and proactively create materials to mitigate operational and compliance risks.
• Coordinate with system administrators, network engineers, security teams, and business units to collect technical information for documentation purposes.
• Provide guidance and training to IT personnel on documentation tools, standards, and best practices.
• Prepare reports and dashboards on documentation coverage and status for IT management review.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or equivalent are beneficial.
• 1–3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a related position.
• Proven experience in creating technical documentation, SOPs, or knowledge base articles within a corporate IT environment.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based service management practices is preferred.
• Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in documentation and knowledge management tools.
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components including servers, networking, virtualization, storage, and cloud services.
• Experience with diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio, draw.io, or Lucidchart.
• Working knowledge of ITSM processes including change management, incident management, and asset management.
• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automating documentation tasks are a plus.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convert complex technical concepts into clear, accessible content.
• Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to organizing and maintaining information.
