Infrastructure & DevOps / Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Architect, develop, and sustain infrastructure utilizing Terraform & Azure DevOps [with Ansible as a secondary focus]

• Create reusable modules for deployments across multiple environments (development, testing, production)

• Automate the provisioning of Virtual machines (VMware / Hyper-V), Networking elements (VLANs, firewalls, load balancers), Storage solutions, and Cloud resources (Azure/AWS where applicable)

• Design and uphold Ansible playbooks, Terraform Plans, Azure pipelines, and roles

• Streamline OS provisioning and hardening, Application deployments, Patch management, and Configuration drift remediation

• Integrate Ansible/Terraform within CI/CD pipelines

• Connect automation workflows with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)

• Establish automated pipelines for infrastructure deployment and validation

• Enforce version control and change tracking for all automation artifacts

• Provide support and automation for Virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi / Hyper-V), Windows Server and/or Linux systems, Networking (routing, switching, firewall policies)

• Collaborate closely with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance

• Automate the deployment of monitoring tools and configurations for alerting

• Enhance system reliability through automation and self-healing scripts

• Diagnose automation failures and infrastructure challenges

• Implement secure configurations in line with NIST, ISO 27001, or comparable frameworks

• Automate security baselines and compliance verifications

• Manage secrets securely (e.g., Vault, Key Vault)

• Formulate and uphold Automation standards, SOPs, and runbooks

• Ensure that all automation is version-controlled, documented, and auditable

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience

• Over 7 years of practical experience in infrastructure or DevOps engineering

• Extensive expertise with Terraform (advanced) / Ansible (advanced)

• Proficiency in Virtualization (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V), Windows Server and/or Linux administration, and Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing)

• Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud platforms - CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred) - Veeam Backup & Replication

• Knowledge in OT/SCADA environments (highly desirable) - Cybersecurity frameworks (NERC CIP, IEC 62443)

• Scripting proficiency - PowerShell, Python, Bash
