Information Systems Security Officer – Subject Matter Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• We are in search of a highly proficient and seasoned Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team.

• In this vital position, you will be ultimately accountable for the daily cyber operations of designated systems, ensuring strict compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and industry standards.

• Acting as a trusted advisor, you will work closely with executive leadership—including the Authorizing Official (AO), System Owners, and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)—to mitigate risk and protect essential digital infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) OR equivalent verifiable work experience.

• Security+ or higher; higher certifications such as CISSP, CAP, or CASP are desired.

• Experience: Eight (8) years of progressive experience in information assurance, cybersecurity engineering, or ISSO/ISSM roles.

• Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen (no dual citizenship).

• Ability to pass a background investigation.

• Capable of obtaining and maintaining DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD).

• Soft Skills: High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Outstanding communication and diplomacy skills, with the capability to translate complex technical risks into actionable business advice for executive stakeholders (AO, CISO).

• Strong analytical thinking and meticulous attention to detail concerning security documentation and boundaries.
