Information System Security Officer, ISSO

📋 Description

• Strategically plan, implement, and oversee all aspects of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for designated systems.

• Aid in the creation and upkeep of security documentation, such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).

• Collaborate closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to fulfill their roles and responsibilities.

• Engage with system owners, stakeholders, and other security experts.

• Offer security guidance and training to system users.

• Prepare and deliver security briefings to management.

• Ensure adherence to all Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DoN) cybersecurity regulations.

• Guarantee that relevant policy and procedural documentation is up-to-date and accessible to authorized personnel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance.

• At least 3+ years of experience as an ISSO in a DoD setting; familiarity with NMCI is advantageous.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline (equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education).

• Preferred Certifications: DoD 8570 IAM Level I certification.

• Comprehensive understanding of the RMF and NIST 800-53 security controls.

• Proficient in security assessment tools and methodologies.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
